 EIPEE 2010: Seminar Minimize

Purpose

The purpose of the seminar was to bring together major people from across Europe and beyond who are concerned with moving forward evidence informed policy in education across Europe.

There were three principal aims of the seminar. First, the seminar was concerned with the analysis of data from EIPEE project. The preliminary findings were presented and discussed with the aim to:
  • fill gaps in our knowledge of relevant examples of activities linking research with policy-making and studies examining the extent, process and/or efficacy of activities used across Europe to link research and policy-making in education; and
  • include in analysis perspectives from different stakeholders across Europe.
Second, the seminar aimed to situate the EIPEE project in the context of ongoing and planned international processes and activities in knowledge brokerage for educational policies. In this way the seminar:
  • enabled synergy between different activities leveraging knowledge for educational policies at national and international levels;
  • identified organisations/institutions and people who are interested in further development of knowledge brokerage in education; and
  • was a next step in the process of building sustainable networks.
Third, the seminar gave all participants the possibility to propose and devise on future activities for evidence informed policy in education in Europe.
